About: Having previously studied chemistry in Prague, Martina joined the fashion textile course at Central Saint Martins and graduated from the MA with a distinction.
She started her own label in 2011 and her background in the sciences still manifests itself in the way she experiments with textiles to create her collections.

In particular she has found leather to be the most versatile allowing her to punch and cut to create striking patterns with her hand woven technique. Martina always maintains an ethical stance in her work and the leather she sources is always of the highest quality by-product. The company is based in London and sell in concept stores worldwide.

Our products are made of hand woven and carefully sourced leathers.

We collaborate with ECCO, environmentally friendly tannery who runs its production on 75% biofuel along with strict water usage policy.





We are searching for a dedicated, motivated, responsible  womenswear design student to come and undertake their Work Placment with Martina Spetlova  leading up to the Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2018.

We are looking for someone very enthusiastic, with attention to detail who can commit to the internship. Applicants should be flexible with their time and have a can-do attitude. The student will be trained in hand weaving and other textile techniques, would learn about pattern cutting and draping and will be supervised by the creative director.

This is a great opportunity to get real experience with a growing brand, we are a small and very friendly team. Successful applicant will have the chance to be involved with the process and creation of the textiles for AW17 sample collection/ pattern cutting/ fabric development and sourcing.  The student will be superviseds by creative director.  Student will have an oportunity to work on flat drawings and CAD drawings.

Martina Spetlova is a high-end womenswear brand founded on values of luxury and craftsmanship. Since graduating from Central Saint Martins Martina has built a highly respected and successful brand. 

The collections are stocked internationally.

The student will be supervised by the creative director and will put in the practice their patterncutting skils, leather more about pattern cuttng and draping on the stand.  The student will learn hand woven leather technique so characteristic for Martina Spetlova brand.   She/he will be taking part in research, sample development and textile prep and making for the actual pieces to be presented at Paris Fashion Week.

  • Leather screeen printing.
