We are looking to add a well organised Finance Manager to the oki-ni team. Reporting jointly to oki-ni Directors and the parent group finance team, they will have ownership of all accounting processes at company level; from daily bookkeeping and cash management to reporting, planning and analysis. Central to the running of our committed team, the correct candidate will have the opportunity to engage with all departments to gain knowledge, experience and develop their skills in the fast-paced e-commerce sector.
 
Key responsibilities include:

  • Management of the company's financial accounting and reporting processes; with support from the group Finance Team.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting and analysis to strict weekly and monthly deadlines; ownership of the MA.
  • Monitor and interpret cash flow and predict future trends; reporting to group finance team.
  • Manage cash flow, make supplier payments and communicate effectively with suppliers concerning invoices and payments.
  • Complete all bookkeeping tasks; invoice posting, bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, staff expenses etc. 
  • Contribute to budgeting and planning processes with management.
  • Analysis and reporting on factors influencing business performance.
  • Develop financial management mechanisms to minimise financial risk.
  • Investigate and evaluate opportunity for cost-reduction.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out smoothly.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate external contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as the Inland Revenue.
  • Compete filings and declarations accurately and in a timely manner.  
  • Ensuring company processes are compliant with current financial regulations and legislation; with support from financial advisory services company.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Relevant accounting qualification.
  • Past experience in the retail sector:  2+ years.
  • Strong commercial and business awareness.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical approach to work.
  • High numeracy and sound technical skills.
  • Problem-solving capacity.
  • Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail and an investigatory initiative.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Capacity to make quick but rational decisions.
  • Good IT skills; in particular accounting and reporting software – Sage experience if preferential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package including advanced excel skills.
