About: Nobody’s Child is revolutionising women’s fashion by creating beautiful clothing that exists at an affordable price point that is accessible to everyone. We’re a brand on a mission to bring stylish fashion to every woman, everywhere without costing the Earth.

With female CEO Jody Plows at our helm, we are made up of a passionate group of change makers. Designed in- house at our London-based studio, our collections strike the balance between trend-driven and timeless designs. We take pride in our materials mix, but also strive to offer increased access to services and systems that keep our products loved and in use for as long as possible.

Our employees, the very backbone of the brand, are deeply engaged in our manufacturing processes from start to finish. Our customers come back time and time again for statement staples that transition through the seasons, providing maximum wearability with a considered approach.

Nobody’s Child is for the free thinkers, the dreamers, and the go-getters. Born in 2015, we’ve spent the last decade creating clothes that feel as good as they look for people that embrace individuality, live with purpose, and want to leave the world a little better than they found it. It’s been 10 years of creativity, growth, and bold ideas, and the values that guide us haven’t changed.

Nobody’s Child is looking for an experienced Designer to join our thriving Casuals Department, in our growing area of Outerwear & Tailoring, working alongside a team of exceptional and passionate womenswear designers. Reporting into the Design Manager, you’ll bring a fresh eye, drive newness, and elevate our responsible product, aligning with our strategic direction.

Day to day, you'll be:

  • Working closely with the Design Manager to own and execute range development end-to-end from briefs given. As well as working collaboratively with all in-house departments, such as print, buying, and merchandising.
  • Supporting range development by proactively driving research and presenting new ideas. Showing in-depth trend knowledge, clearly identifying department key items, key colours, new fabrics, and details in line with the NC customer.
  • Keeping sustainability at the forefront of all development, constantly researching and evolving the brand to be market leaders.
  • Sourcing the newest sustainable fabrics and trims to elevate the range.
  • Lead and participate in regular team meetings to present the range to heads of and the CEO.
  • Create technical design specifications for new garment developments and work alongside suppliers to ensure fit and quality is prioritised.
  • Actively participate in fittings, in collaboration with the buying and tech teams.
  • Establish and build relationships with suppliers and fabric mills.
  • Be able to work and manage critical paths and demonstrate organisation and drive to ensure correct samples are delivered on time.
  • Support with wholesale packs alongside the Design Manager and helping to mend on a regular basis as needed.
  • From time to time where needing to assist the tea with any other department needs on other categories other than your own in key seasonal pressure times.
  • Actively contribute to our company’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility by integrating sustainable practices into everyday work. This includes minimising waste, promoting responsible sourcing, supporting our circular economy initiatives, and encouraging customers and colleagues to make choices that align with our sustainability values. Every team member at NC plays a role in helping us reduce our environmental impact and create a positive legacy for our communities and the planet.
