Privacy Policy


FashionWorkie.com (“Fashion Workie”, “we”, “us”, “our” “the site” “the website”, ”the platform”, “the services”, “our services”) provides this privacy policy setting out how we will collect, handle and store and protect information about you when providing you our services or performing any other activities that form part of the operation of Fashion Workie (collectively “services”).

In this privacy policy your information is sometimes called “personal information” or “personal data”. We may also sometimes collectively refer to handling, collecting and protecting and storing your personal information as “processing” such personal information.

By using our services or submitting personal information through our services you acknowledge and consent to the terms of this privacy policy and the processing of your personal information in accordance with this privacy policy.  If you don’t want us to collect or process your personal information in the ways described in this policy you should not use our services.

Our website and our services are not intended for individuals under the age of sixteen (16). We do not knowingly collect personal information from users in this age group.  Individuals under the age of sixteen (16) are expressly prohibited from using Fashion Workie, unless parental consent is provided and we are notified.

1. Who We Collect Information From

We collect information about Readers, Applicants and Advertisers (collectively “user”, “users or “you”).  “Readers” are those who visit our website to view and browse content.  “Applicants” are those who engage with Fashion Workie content to perform an application on behalf of the Applicant.  These are applications submitted through the Fashion Workie website and not a third party.  “Advertisers” are those who post and advertise vacancies on the Fashion Workie website.  We use and disclose information collected from or about our Readers, Applicants and Advertisers as described within this privacy policy.


2. Information We Collect

There are three types of information we collect.

2.1    Information that you give to us when you use our services.

2.1.1     Information that is necessary for the use of Fashion Workie.

In order to use our services we ask for the following personal information.  This information is needed for the sufficient performance of the contract between you and us and to allow us to comply with any legal obligations.  Without this information, we may not be able to provide you with our services.

Account Information.  When users register and sign up for a Fashion Workie account we ask you provide information such as your first and last name and email address.

Applications to Advertisers.  When Applicants directly submits an application through Fashion Workie for a role advertised on our site we ask you provide information such as your first and last name as well as email address.

2.1.2     Information you choose to give us when using our services.

Whilst using our services users may provide us with additional personal information in order to obtain a better user experience and make better use of our services.  This additional information will be processed based on your consent.

Additional Profile Information.  You may choose to provide additional information within your Fashion Workie profile such as your gender, date of birth and additional identifiable background information.

Applications to Advertisers.  When Applicants directly submits an application through Fashion Workie for a role advertised on our site you may provide detailed personal information about yourself that is contained within a CV or cover letter.

Other Information.  You may supply us with information when you fill in a form, participate in promotions, or use other features on FashionWorkie.com.

2.2    Information IT systems collect when you use our services.

Each time you visit the website certain information and personal information will be created and automatically recorded about the services you use and how you use them.  This information is necessary for the adequate performance of the contract between you and us, to enable us to comply with our legal obligations, our legitimate business interest in being able to provide and improve the functionalities of our services and when needed with your consent.

Usage Information.  We collect information about your interactions with our services, such as the content and pages you view, your searches and other actions performed on Fashion Workie.

Log Data and Device Information.  We automatically collect log data and device information when you access Fashion Workie, even if you have not created a Fashion Workie account, or logged in.  This information includes such things as details how you’ve used Fashion Workie, IP address, access dates and times, hardware and software information.

Cookies and Similar Technologies. We use cookies and other similar technologies to improve your experience within the website and make it easier to interact with.  This may include storing your language preferences and keeping you logged into the site in order for you to use our services.  We may also allow with your consent our advertising partners to use these technologies to provide you with tailored advertising.  Whilst you may disable the use of cookies through your chosen web browser you may find that when using Fashion Workie without cookies, some features may not function as intended.

2.3    Information We Collect from Third Parties.

We may supplement the personal information we collect with information from third parties that is publicly available.  This information is collected for our legitimate business interest in being able to provide and improve the functionalities of our services.


3. How We Use Information We Collect

We store, use and process information, including personal information about you to provide, understand, improve and develop our services, create and maintain a working environment and comply with legal obligations.

3.1 Provide, Improve and Develop our services.

  • Enabling users to access our services.
  • Enabling Readers to access our services and browse content on Fashion Workie.
  • Enabling an Advertiser to post an advert.
  • Enabling an Applicant to respond to an advertisement.
  • Operate, protect, improve, and optimize our services and experience such as performing analytics and conducting research.
  • Provide customer service to users.
  • Send users service or support messages, updates, account notifications.

We process this information given our legitimate interest in improving the Fashion Workie platform and for the adequate performance of the contract with you.

3.2 Create and Maintain a Safe Environment.

  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity.
  • Conduct security investigations and risk assessments.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.
  • Resolve any disputes with any of our users and enforce our Terms & Conditions and other policies.

We process this information given our legitimate interest in protecting the Fashion Workie platform, to measure adequate performance of the contract with you and to comply with applicable laws.

3.3 Provide, Personalise, Measure and Improve our Advertising and Marketing

  • Send you marketing, advertising and other information that may be of interest to you based on your preferences.

We will process your personal information for the purposes listed in this section given our legitimate interest in undertaking marketing activities to offer you products or additional services that may be of your interest and when consent has been provided for personalised advertising.


4. Sharing And Disclosure

To provide our services we work with a number of carefully selected third parties. To do this, we may share your information with these third parties in the following limited circumstances:

Third party service providers for business purposes.  To function properly, we rely on a number of carefully selected third parties to provide us with services and products. We permit these companies to use your personal information only to the extent necessary to provide us with their services and products.  Below you can find the types of third parties we use:

•    Analytics and search engine providers, like Google, that we use to assist us in the improvement and optimisation of the website.
•    Performance marketing providers that help us deliver advertising

Advertisers for marketing purposes.  We can provide your information to our advertising and social media partners (including Facebook and Twitter, where you choose).

To comply with legal requests.  On occasion we may be required to liaise with various regulators and law enforcement agencies in a number of different countries, whether as a result of law, a court order, or another legal process. Although we dispute requests wherever suitable, in some cases we may have to share your information with the regulators or law enforcement agencies. Where we consider it appropriate, and provided we are not prohibited from doing so by law or court order, we will attempt to notify you of these legal demands.

6. Your Rights

6.1 Your choice with data.

You may benefit from a number of rights in relation to your information that we process.  Some rights apply only in certain limited cases, depending on your location. If you would like to manage, change, limit, or delete your personal information, you can do so via your Fashion Workie account settings or by contacting Fashion Workie here.  Upon request, Fashion Wokie will provide you with information as to whether we hold any of your personal information.  By visiting your account settings, you can access, correct, change, and delete certain personal information associated with your account.  In certain cases where we process your information, you may also have a right to restrict or limit the ways in which your personal information is used.   In certain circumstances, you also have the right to request the deletion of your personal information, and to obtain a copy of your personal information in an easily provided accessible format.  If you require further assistance, you can contact Fashion Workie here.  Please note that such requests may require proof of identity.

If we process your information based on our legitimate interests as explained above, or in the public interest, you can object to this processing in certain circumstances. In such cases, we will cease processing your information unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue processing or where it is needed for legal reasons.  Where we use your data for direct marketing purposes, you can always object using the unsubscribe link in such communications or changing your preferences within your Fashion Workie account.

6.2 Deletion of accounts.

When a user closes an account, the user will no longer have access to any of the data we make available under that account.  If the user uses the same email address to set up a new account, this data from a previous account will not become available to the user again. 

Fashion Workie reserves the right to keep any materials in a closed account as necessary to preserve and protect its rights to the extent permitted by law (for example, to preserve records of a dispute) or to comply with its obligations under local law (for example, if requested to retain by law enforcement).  A closed account does not mean that all of the data is expunged from the Fashion Workie system, although it will not be readily available under the original account belong to the user.

6.3 Deletion of applications.

If a users wishes to delete an application for a role they found on Fashion Workie but applied to on a third party website or by third party means such as email or post, they are advised to contact the relevant company or individual directly to request deletion of their application. For applications which you, the Applicant submitted through Fashion Workie, please note that your application and materials submitted with your application will likely be controlled by the Advertiser of the role you applied to and we may direct you to that Advertiser for personal information deletion requests.


7. Security

Fashion Workie has put in place commercially reasonable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure personal information we collect.  However, unfortunately no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, therefore we cannot warrant the security of any information that you send us. There is no guarantee that data may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our safeguards.

Your Fashion Workie account is protected by a password.  If you are using a public or shared computer, we encourage you not to stay signed in. You or any other user of the computer / browser you signed in on will be able to access your account and take certain specific actions during this signed in period without any further authorization. 

You can end your signed in session to Fashion Workie by either signing out and / or clearing your cookies from your web browser you were signed in on.  If you have certain browser privacy settings enabled, simply closing your browser may also end your signed in session. If you are using a public or shared computer you should sign out and / or clear your cookies when you are done using our services in order to protect your account and your personal information.

Content on Fashion Workie may links to third party websites.  These links are provided for your reference and convenience and do not imply any endorsement of the activities undertaken by these third party websites.  Please be aware that these linked websites have separate and independent privacy policies which we encourage you to review when you visit those websites.   This privacy policy covers our website and does not cover any other website. Fashion Workie therefore has no responsibility for the content or activities of these linked website and as such has no liability over the personal information you may choose to submit to them.


9. Acquisitions And Other Reorganizations

Information collected pursuant to this privacy policy, including personal information, may be disclosed to one or more third parties in connection with any change of ownership or control in Fashion Workie’s business (whether by merger, sale, or otherwise), or any other reorganization or joint venture, or assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceeding), and any such information may be used by such third party in accordance with this privacy policy.  Equally, information collected pursuant to this privacy policy, including personal information, may be disclosed to one or more third parties in connection with any acquisition or merger.
